Cave Hill Cemetery
Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky is unique in that it combines a local cemetery with a national cemetery component. I was there to find Moses P. Bigelow who once served in the 3rd Michigan Infantry but was discharged in 1862 for "insanity." He eventually returned to Michigan and reentered the army in the 17th Michigan Cavalry and die of lung disease in 1864 at a hospital in Louisville.

From a Boston Cemetery
I can't tell you which cemetery in Boston these two monuments were found but a friend sent these to me and I thought they were worthy enough to pass along to you.

S. H. Harden in Newaygo Cemetery
This monument is certainly unique among civil war veteran gravesites.
While it is not uncommon to see a life-size statue of a Union soldier at a Grand Army of the Republic Monument, it's rare to see one at the grave of a single soldier.
