This is stone is erected
to the memory of
Hannah Brown,
wife of the late
Capt. William Sanford
Brown, Senr.
Who died April 15, 1812,
In her 54th year.
Hail happy spirit while thy friends
deplore,
A loss which ages never can restore,
Thy bright example wipes their tears
away
And points their passage to the
realms of day.
